Successful Information Management in International Networks

BPW International has developed several IT tools for a professional information management in its network. It is with pleasure I present two examples: “Member Relations” and “Projects & Events

“Member Relations”

This IT-tool organizes and puts together all the important information about every Affiliate in the network.

To lead an organization with members in over 100 countries and found new clubs, a member relations management tool is indispensable. With “Member Relations” the Board and the staff members maintain a list of member-countries and Clubs in all categories and can place short notes in the country or Club file. With this inventory of short notes the latest status of the activities is available giving access to a tool to lead the countries along strategies. The notes are brief, every Board and staff member, the password-holders, can obtain an overview in record time and have an excellent document for decision-making.

When a password-holder opens the tool the notes that have been posted since the last visit will be shown.

 “Projects & Events”

This IT-tool shows all projects and interesting events of each Club, Federation and Committee sorted by main topics in English, Spanish, French and Italian. This common platform gives the members the opportunity to exchange experiences and to work together worldwide. The list of projects and events can be accessed by all visitors to the website including sponsors.

Clubs, countries and committees can put their own projects online by using a password.

The input is very short and precise: Title, project’s objectives, description of the project, expected results (each maximum 500 characters), timeframe, attachments or website-links and a contact-e-mail. A moderator controls the inputs, organizes the translations and puts everything online. Important events can be put treated in a similar way.
